Every student can choose a size of the group he would like to study in. You are able to choose how many other students you want to learn with, how many chess tutorials a month you want to take and at what level you want to be taught. International Chess University will adjust and fit the Services exactly to YOUR needs, in contradiction to other chess sites offer uniform product in a fixed price.
Every course is taught according to detailed syllabus, written by professional chess tutors and suited to fit your level.
Sizes vary between 1-Private Chess lessons and 30-people in group.
Everybody can find himself the most affordable group according to his own budget and free time.
Important: If the size of the group is bigger, it doesn’t mean that the quality of the chess tutorial is lower. The same programs will be for all sizes of groups. The only difference is the personal attention the student gets.
Computer requirements:
You must have a fairly modern computer, preferably on the internet with a high speed broadband connection, such as DSL or Cable. You must have microphone speakers, and a webcam.
Without a webcam, you won't be able to see your other classmates, and they won't be able to see you. Part of the IChessU experience is seeing your chess coach and your fellow classmates when they have a question!
(We expect to have a Macintosh compatible version for IChessU soon)
Chess experience:
If you don't know anything about playing chess, or only know how the pieces move, then you should join our beginner classes. There are no other requirements to join our beginner classes.
However, we have admission requirements for all of our advanced classes, as we don't want you to join a class that is too weak or too strong for your current chess capabilities!
One thing you must have before you can join a more advanced class at IChessU is a chess "rating", which tells you, and us, what your level of chess capability is. This can be an established rating from your school, national chess affiliate, or even an online chess playing site. If you don't know your rating, we can assess one for you, or you can ask your coach, if you have one, to give you an approximate rating.
Some advanced classes will have additional requirements, but those will be discussed in the class description before you sign up.
Note to all junior students: To join an IChessU class, you must be 18 years or older, or have your parent sign up for your, as it requires a credit card to pay for your classes. If your parents are not so good with computers, that are OK, just start the sign in process, and call them over when it is time to enter your credit card details and establish your account.
Registration is free of charge
